"The relevance and value of Google search for billions of users is based on the concurrent of depth and breadth of the knowledge ecosystem of the web, to the extent it deteriorates, it’s not good for Google search."

Richard is a really smart guy. In this brief read, he suggests that our changing human behavior, not platforms/technology, have pummeled journalism's business model. That would seem to overlook the very real effects technology and platforms have had in changing our behaviors. But a takeaway that is useful: researchers have long advocated that we make decisions on what the reader/viewer/customer does (behavior), not on what they say (or select in a survey). Marketers tend to understand this much better than publishers.
