Brands are now blacklisting mainstream news sites, including Fox News

Brands are now blacklisting mainstream news sites, including Fox News | RJI links | Scoop.it
Political tensions have reached a point where some brands perceive mainstream news outlets as too controversial for their ads.
Brian Steffens's insight:

If the message is off-putting to advertisers, then it's incumbent on us to explore the value propositions. For citizens, that might be information I need to know to function at work, home and in the civic space. Investigations, data, calendars, where to get needed services, etc. If it's relevant and useful enough, and quick and easy to navigate, and uniquely local (not on every other website in the universe) you have a chance to charge for it. For advertisers, messaging/image is important, but if you can deliver all potential car buyers in a market, or show how your efforts drive customers in the front door, they'll consider paying you for that. I know, a DUH moment, but don't lose site of what value we do or could or should be providing.
